Your feet are a ‘feat of engineering’

Your feet are like a building’s foundation, however, our body’s foundations also have to move. In order to deal with the tremendous daily stresses, the foot has been created with 26 bones. As you walk, each foot strikes the ground with a reaction force up to three times your weight. When you run, that goes up to seven times. That’s well over half a tonne of force for the average person. If the joints within your foot become misaligned (subluxated), this force then impacts your ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints in ways they’re not designed to handle. Little wonder your feet and legs are especially vulnerable to many painful conditions, such as the following. Our Melbourne Podiatrists are highly trained and with years of experience on the following examples and much more.
